[RESOLVED] ATI All In Wonder Radeon TV Tuner Freeze

Just got the following setup:
AMD Athlon 1GHz
Abit KT7-RAID motherboard
128 Mb Mosel Vitalic CAS 2 memory
ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon
Sound Blaster Live MP3+ 5.1
Maxtor 30Gb 7200 RPM
Toshiba 12x DVD-CD ROM
Netgear FA311 100 Mbit Network card
Winmodem 56K fax/modem

Windows ME operating system

The problem is that when I try to use the ATI Multimedia Center TV software to view cable signal on my monitor, the desktop freezes after a few minutes. I tried to adjust the bios settings and managed to only delay the freeze by a few more minutes. I even increased the voltage for CPU and I/O but it did not help much.

There are no conflicts that I could find on the system and everything else is running fine.

Please help. I would also appreciate a hint on how I should configure the bios settings to improve performance.

Increasing the voltage to your cpu shouldn't matter. What power supply are you using? 250/300/400? With all that hardware you might need a larger PS.
Of course, as we all know, it could be WinME rearing its ugly head again...
As far as drivers go, there is also an updated Special Purpose driver on the ATI website, that might help you out. (Special Purpose is ATI's way of saying BETA so a word of warning about downloading it.)

Also, what version of the VIA drivers do you have installed? 4.24 is the latest 4-1 driver I've seen. Install the agp driver that comes with it in Turbo mode to make sure that AGP 2x mode is enabled. I'm not sure if the Raedon supports agp 4x, but VIA also has a AGP4x driver available that you can download seperately from the 4-1 driver. Heres that link also.

I'm praying for ya that its just the drivers that need updating, not the need for a PS. Good luck!

ATI cards don't seem to like VIA chipsets (or vice versa) very much.

I guess you could say that...
Under WinMe with the Rage Fury Maxx on a ASUS A7V it took me some doing to get it to work right... I had to install the AGP4x driver for it to work properly... but what drives me nuts is that the Rage Fury Maxx isn't a 4x card, but requires a 4x driver?!
Try it and see what happens!
