Last Sunday my computer stoped working, it still boots up and all, but I'm not getting any graphics on the screen. Yet my monitor is still working fine. And it makes a series of four beeps. I took off the panel and looked at the video card, thinking it might have been lose. I talked to two friends of mine and both thought there was a problem with the graphics card. I moved it around a little and after a couple of tries it finally acted normal. To test it out I played my flight simulter for several minutes and it acted fine. After that I thought it was fixed, and I looked to test my sound to find my sound port. Then the screen frooze and acted funny again. Can anyone help? Any suggestions?

If you can try a new graphics card and while your at it upgrade from what you have now, It sounds like the card is going south and the beep codes are trying to tell you something, look at your manuals or check the manufacturers web site for beep codes
But first try a new card

Try another slot
Depending upon the motherboard you may have to mess with the BIOS unless BIOS assigns/overrides IRQ and / or slot

Rubber eraser gently on VGA card pins
Buff with dry tissue shine up the pins

I have seen this once or twice, and the mobo concerned had a COAST cache memory stick installed that was failing. If you have one installed, try removing it and see!
Don't know why this affected video, but it did. It also wiped CMOS/wrecked BIOS in another machine, so be careful!!
