Any patches or help out there??? Thanks acarr@freeuk.com September 28th, 2001, 10:00 AM I know that it only works with Windows 9x (or it did...) and not NT4/2000 based systems. The drivers were also absymal, so getting them to run fully is a nightmare. What is the exact problem (no display, lockups in windows, etc). It may be that the card is too fast for the board to run, looking at the specs from ATI, it requires a 6x86 generation CPU, the Asus P5A is only a 5th generation board. I have an AMD K62 500 CPU on it, with Direct X 8.0 and Win 98se. It will load in 640x480 @ 256 colors--but will not load (hangs) in any higher res. The BIOS on the board is dated 7/16/99, which is about 6 months before this card was released, and the BIOS appears to be the most recent for this board. Any more info would be nice. Darren Wilson September 28th, 2001, 10:35 AM Make sure that the jumper on the card is not set to AGP4X mode to start with, and also depending on the voltage given out through the AGP slot, try setting the card to run in single chip mode (there is a jumper on the card) rather than dual chip mode. As much as I like ATI cards, these are possibly the worst cards ever released in both driver & hardware support, you will never use the full 64Mb of Memory unless the application you are running wil use the ATI SLI api. Basically within Windows nad most of the games it will run as a 32Mb Rage Pro 128. ------------------ System Specs Abit KT7A-RAID (Rock F'n Solid!!!) - AMD Athlon 1Ghz (10x100) - 1024Mb PC133 SDRAM - ATI Radeon (AGP4X) - Maxtor ATA100 30Gb - 2 x Seagate ATA66 (RAID 0 totalling 26Gb) - Toshiba SD-1202M DVD - Plextor PlexWriter 2410A (Buy One!!!!) - Creative Labs SB Live!
