Hi,

Some time ago, a friend gave me her Voodoo 3500 TV card but the installation manual is long lost. I'm looking for a bit of installation help:

1) The card has two coax cable connectors: Which is the FM antenna and which is for cable in?
2) The card has an external pod with s/video and 3 rca connectors on each side. What is this for? Is it tv/out or tv/in? What's the differance between the two sides or is it just two external feeds?
3) the card has two connectors on it that look like cd-rom jacks for a sound card. I assume that I'm supposed to use these to mix the sound signals from the cable/fm feed to my sound card but why two?

As you can see, I could really use the manual or a pdf but I cannot find that pdf of the manual that 3dfx once had up on it's site. Any help would be appreciated!

P.S. Yup, it's not the fastest card but it's linux support is real nifty and I do not want to spend any more money on my video system until I know what card is best for morrowind -- which does not come out until next year ;<

Ughh...it's been a while since I've seen a 3500TV ( I used to have one ), but I'll see if I can at least point you in the right direction.

1) I BELIEVE the coaxial connector on the right (assuming the card is installed in the PC and you are looking at the back of the case) is the cable connector, and the one on the left is the FM stereo.

2) The external pod is for TV in and out. There should be an arrow pointing in toward the center of the pod for the input, and an arrow pointing out for output.

3) The jacks on the card are for auxillary output to a soundcard. The reason for two of them are for soundcards that only have one input jack on them, so you chain from the sound card, to the 3500, to the CD-ROM. For the life of me, I can't remember which is in, and which is out.

Sorry I can't be of any more help than this.

1) The outer coax connector is FM, inner connector is TV output.
2) The pod has input on one side, output on the other. This is determined by the arrow direction under the RCA jacks on each side. If it points into the pod, it is an input.
3) The one closest to the 40(?) pin connector is the input from the CD-ROM and the other is output to the sound card.

If you are still interested in recieving the manual, box, etc., I would be willing to send it to you in exchange for something cool (not necessarily anything valuable). Email me if you like. http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/cwmsmilies/cwm30.gif
