I want to upgrade my old PC from Win95 to Win98. Problem is now stuck with the old display card.

I only get a driver good for Win95 for my display card S3-Trio64V+. According to the release notes comes with the driver software, it mentioned Viewtop Control Panel 2.71 for PB-S3A, S3B.

The associated user's manual is titled like this :
VIEWTOP BP-S3x, Graphics/Video Accelerator Card - product of Britek Electronic Co. Ltd. 1995-1996 v2.0 Taiwan.

I wonder if any of you can advise me where from the internet to download an updated driver good for Win98.

Many thank! http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/cwmsmilies/cwm30.gif

to the best of my knowledge, win 98 natively supports trio 64, 64v and 64v+ so it shouldnt require drivers

You can download all the S3 chipset drivers from http://www.s3graphics.com

The chipset drivers are located @ https://ranger.s3graphics.com/765drv/ but download the chipset id util first to double check - http://www.s3graphics.com/S3id.exe

win98 does have the drivers in it that suport the s3 trio line, the 64, 64+ 64+dx ect, sometimes i have had descent luck with aopens video card drivers on these chipsets , its an older card i wouldnt sweat useing 98s stock drivers, itl work, if youre doin an upgrade from 95 to 98, try unloading, uninstalling the old drivers first, let 98 start off clean, i dont really see a problem here though, ive seen way too many problems way back with 98 s upgrade, and other sound card drivers and printer sofware though... just thought id give my 2-k
