Why is my box doing that with my Start Menu? It come and go. If I reboot it is gone, but will come later on. I have formate my C: 3 days ago. I have defrag my C: & D: today and it did not help. I run AMD 700, 384 ram, Geforce2 MX-400.

Looks like a video driver problem. Have you tried installing the most current drivers for your video card?

Thanks guys for your time and help. Yes it is a grafik and DirectX problem. I run DirectX Diagnostic Tool and there was a beta file out of date. Now I clean everything out and starte all over to find out where I got the beta file from. I download the DirectX from M$ right now and I install the driver the grafikcard came with. No I did not put the name down on the beta file, but if I get it back I will and come back here.

Ok, I'm back. Start to install all my stuff and every time I install a new program. I run the DirectX test and I got it. After I install my Intel Pocket PC Camera, I got this in the test.

The file iac25_32.ax is a beta version, which is unsupported and could cause problems. You should reinstall DirectX to get the latest version.

The file nvdisp.drv is uncertified, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs. You may be able to get a certified driver from the manufacturer of the hardware device.

I reinstall DirectX and I got the update from nVIDIA for my grafik, but same result.
What do I try now ??

I'm lost on this one. Everything is in and running. I can delete the beta file and everything is running well for a time and then the mix color in the start menu is back. If I reboot it's good for a time. It is the only thing, as I have notice, where the color is like that. Any suggestion is welcome.
