I recently had to replace a hard drive on my computer which I bought in 1998 from Quantex...it came with a video card which is from Mpact Mediaware..I think....I have the manual that came with the computer and it says Apollo Media 2, and has Joy media written on it as well......however on the card it says Mpact 2, 2 3DVD version 1.0....I have been unable to find the driver for the card anywhere......can anyone help me out....Also....in the manual it references windows 95 as a prerequisite but the computer came with windows 98 installed....I am a little confused at this.........among other things...thanx for the help.....Rich <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

<a href="http://www.dr-tech.com/manuals/drdvd_man.html" target="_blank">http://www.dr-tech.com/manuals/drdvd_man.html</a> Makes mention of the card at digital research technologies.
Appears to be Chromatic Research Mpact2. Use windrivers Archive search under advanced search and type in Chromatic and a few dozen links will be made available for Mpact2

I have been unable to get into this chromatic research site to look for the driver......I believe that you are right in surmising that this is indeed the video card.....either that or the permedia.....that sounded vaguely familiar also....I have tried repeatedly to search for the driver on the site and for some reason I am unable to open the page before timing out......any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated........thanx..... :(

<a href="http://www.windrivers.com/company.htm" target="_blank">http://www.windrivers.com/company.htm</a> try the archive search on the right side, type in Chromatic and this will take you to a bunch of links offered by others, I'll warn you though, it appears as if the driver download for this card is huge, something in the neighborhood of 28 megabyte for driver and APP's.
It looks like Chromatic went the way of 3DfX back in '98' and was purchased by ATI, so no more websight and no more driver updates.

The card was made by Joytech <a href="http://www.joytech.com.tw" target="_blank">www.joytech.com.tw</a>
There are drivers posted at <a href="http://www.driversguide.com" target="_blank">www.driversguide.com</a> (do a search about Mpact) or contact joytech by Email. Last time I did so I got a answer in less then 12H.
