I have been using an Akhter PII 266 (intel al 440 lx motherboard) and ATI 3D rage pro AGP 2x videocard. The whole system had become very erratic in recent months (would only boot in safe mode etc.). So, I decided to reformat the HDD (have'nt done this yet!). I removed the HDD, installed in in another PC & copied the data across. Since putting it back in the Akhter, it won't boot at all, the display does not work either. I can't imagine how i'm going to sort this PC out with no display!! Any idea's??

First of all, open the case and press the card on it's slot.

My guess is your IDE cable either slipped off the pins some (on the MB) or you put the IDE cable on backwards (I'm betting on the backwards one). When you get them backwards, you system doesn't do anything at all...

Try puting the hard drive back in the other machin and change the vidio driver to a standard vga driver, (your board has on board AGP) then reinstall. also check memory or try another vid card..
