I just bought a V770 ultra (AGP) to replace my V330. Unfortunately, I can't get anything better then 800x600. I tried the Diamond drivers and I could *trick* it into letting me set my desktop higher by forcing a reboot after selecting the new resolution, but if I tried changing without reboot, Windows would claim everything was OK but the resolution would remain 800x600. Installing the Detonator drivers, I even lost the capability to trick Windows into giving me 1024x768. Anyone have only ideas?

I have a Celeron 300A and an Abit BH6 motherboard. No, I'm not overclocked. 128meg RAM, a Voodoo2 (PCI--first slot) card is in there, and an SBLive. Windows 98.

Any help would be appreciated--my next step will be to remove the Voodoo2 and if that doesn't work, I'll just have to try reloading Win98.. :-/ Of course I would like to avoid both of those actions if I can...

[You need to reboot into safe mode and set the dispaly settings to standard vga and rebbot again this time into windows and reinstall the Diamond drivers. They must be installed with the video adapter set to standard vga. When you reboot windows will find you video card and then you will be able to use the the diamond controls utility (system tray) to set the resolution and number of colors. Good luck QUOTE]Originally posted by Shroom:
