I agree, viewsonic make some very nice monitors (which reflects in the price), the other brands of monitors I am partial to are philips and mitsubishi.

I've used monitors ranging from CTX to Dell (no name low bid models) to Sony. I currently use a ViewSonic PF790 19" Perfectflat Monitor. It has excellent quality and clarity...not to mention it's flat tube.
You can find it for around $400 bucks (with free shipping sometimes) on the internet. But if you go to a retail store expect to pay alot more. List is $525.
I like Viewsonic the best...but its sort of like the AMD/Intel or Ford/Chevy debates...they never go anywhere. I think Viewsonic is on top, but Sony is just as good (as long as it is a flat tube or trinitron).

Anything with a Sony Trinitron tube is nice, but expensive.
Personally, I like Viewsonic, NEC, and Nokia. Awesome picture quality, and they're all reasonably priced.

All we use in our office are ViewSonic, and I have one at home, too. These are great for CAD because they are shadow mask type. The aperture grille are not the best for CAD because of the tiny wires that make lines on the screen.
Unfortunately, due to budget constraints, any new monitors are going to be KDS :(

I agree 100% with this list. I have nothing but love for my 21" Eizo.

Ditto. Still using 2 x 20" Eizo Flexscan T662-T monitors that are ancient.

I have had 3 of Viewsonic / Optiquest monitors go bad or fry themselves on me within the last year and a half.
Now I have a 19'' KDS sitting on my desk.

Consider a Samsung branded one.
according to recent tech info dump: Trinitron is no longer a patent & therefore Sony's doesn't make 'em anymore - most other flat screens are T's [ look for the wires ]
the LCD's are great, but kinda pricey; Samsung has supposed developed [ we don't sell them] a true flat monitor without the telltale wires.
100 million users can't be wrong.

I bought a 17" Samsung flat screen this weekend and am very impressed with it. I got a good price on it too. $229 with a $50 rebate so actually $179 at Best Buy. I hate Best Buy but that's a deal.
