Well I continue dealing with the C.P., and this time I asked you if anybody knows how to get ride of an icon situated there.

Permanantly, or just from sight? You can get and load TweakUI (http://www.zdnet.com/downloads/stories/info/0,,000LV3,.html) which will allow you to "hide" the offending icon. Or, you can use TweakUI to get the filename of the Control Panel icon (filename.cpl) and delete it from your Windows folder. Deleting Control Panel programs sometimes upsets the registry, so be careful (i.e., rename the file to something else first, then restart Windows and see if unhappiness rules the day).
