I purchased a pc from one of those computer shopper vendors less than a year ago. Since the day I received it, my computer freezes at least once daily, if not more. It accepts no input from the keyboard or mouse, and will not accept a ctrl-alt-delete command, forcing me to hit the reset button on the computer case. I have been to the vendor's tech support for assistance, they have twice recommended running various configurations in MSCONFIG. I have run what seems like an infinite number of permutations, none of which has solved my problems. I have also updated the video driver, which did not solve the problem either. Any help would be appreciated, my system is as follows:

AMD K6/3 450 MHz
M5ALC motherboard PCB ver. 3.1
128 MB PC100 SDRAM
8.0 GB Ultra ATA HD
Riva 128ZX/AGP/8MB SDRAM
6X DVD ROM
3COM V.90 56K Modem
IDE CDRW

Thanks!

Make sure the CPU fan is plugged in and working. Hard locks are often heat related.

Thanks, but the fan is connected and running. Any other ideas? Thanks again.

Make sure in your bios that AGP is selected as the first choice for video, also hard locks are often associated with heat as mentioned above, improper ram seating, or irq hardware conflicts. Hope this gives you a direction http://www.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/smile.gif
