Windows 95,98SE and ME seem to have registy problems for no reason. Any help. Recently brough StarMicro twin slot1 motherboard one and P33 650 chip. Ive tried all i can think of. Even formatting and installing windows from scratch! The error still comes up! Its says something like registy errors windows will no restart and restor your registy! It does this but still after rebooting a few time the registy problem occurs!
Thanx Chris

best thing to do is ask an expert or your vendor.

What exactly does the error message say?

This is most likely two things: bad RAM, or a bad motherboard. Have you tried different RAM? I'm leaning towards the bad board, I don't know anything about StarMicro.

If it ain't broke, and you try to fix it anyway, then it WILL need fixing!

If you are continually getting registry errors out of the blue... 2 things need to be done

1 change ALL MEMORY!
2 possible harddrive/harddrive controller

I recently went through the same problem. turns out I had both bad, memory and my scsi controller went bad at the same time...

Don't diagnostics get to be a hoot when there are two or more problems involved...I just love a challenge....

G'Day,

Had the same problem with a clients system a couple of weeks ago. Found that the MotherBoard was U/S.

You mean you can't boot at all ?

If you can boot why not give a try to the Regcleaner available at http://www.jv16.org
He has done a great job. You could also try safe mode boot and try fixing with Regleaner.

Keep posted.
