A friend asked me the other day about this, but I am not sure what it could be, so I posted the question here...Every time she goes to shut down her computer she gets a blue screen, so she has to hit the reset button each time in order to get it to shut down properly. I asked her what the error says, but her answer is "Press any key to continue!"...well, DUH, so it isn't much help, so if anyone can help on this one, it would be greatly appreciated

There could be a numerous amount of things that can cause this, use msconfig and shut down all the programs you don't really use.Keep the Scan registry and Task tray .Reboot and see what that does.It is definetly sofware related to a program or windows.

I figured that it could be a numerous amount of things. I thought about telling her to use the msconfig, BUT who knows how well she will do with that one I will just tell her to get it reformated. She doesn't want me to come to her house to do anything to it, soooo, I am thinking that it must be really messed up
Thanks a lot
