Was your Bios Virus detection on when you installed 95? This can screw up an install but usually your Bios will flash a screen that says that the MBR is being modified.. :D

Yes - I think that was what the problem was.
Thanks.

I have been experiencing a similar problem when installing Win 95 A (original) with floppy on IBM PC350's (mostly P 100's). After the first reboot the machine either hangs or reboots or both. It appears to happen when it is getting ready to load the drivers for the on board S3 video. I pulled all devices and FDISK/Format...nothing. I also did a FDISK /MBR in caseof a virus issue. There is no Bios virus scanner on these old clunkers. I thought it might be a bad set of OS install disks. I tried several other sets and several CD-ROMS...still the same prob. Does anyone know of any time-sensative settings in 95 that may be causing these prob's, given their recent change in support policy for Win 95.

Hey Bleh,

If there was a time issue, I have not seen it in the win95B OS I use on my desktop and laptop PCs. Still works fine after 5 years... :)
