Running out of resources error code

I have a user running windows 98 and when he opens up a power point file he get's a message a white screen that says you are dangerously running low in resources need to close one or more applications. The system seem to hang there.
Any ideas.

How much RAM is in the system? does this only occur with Powerpoint or with other applications? check to see what is running in the background

Yes, You only get that message when you are running more programs thatn you Ram can handle you most likely have lots of thing running in the back ground.
Hit CTRL ALT DEL to see what's there and end tsk on everything except Explorer and SYStray.

then if you want go to system config in the start up tab and get rid of the progs that you don't want to start up on every boot.

Scan for viruses. This error comes up with Word and Nimda. May also happen with PP.
