Hello,
I have a customer whos CD-ROM spins up very slow on the first CD. Any other programs run after this first CD start regular and work just fine. Not sure what is causing this, cept for te possibility of CD-ROM not initializing. But the other CD's work fine after first CD. Any ideas please respond.

Two ideas.
Check the power supply. If it's a little weak, or less than 200w, could have troubles getting the CD to spin.
Find the line in autoexec.bat that says something like:
rem - By Windows Setup - C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MTMIDE01 /M:10
Remove the part that says:
rem - By Windows Setup -
so the line says:
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MTMIDE01 /M:10
Reboot the computer. This will start the CD in DOS before Window$ loads, and should speed up the process. It will take longer to boot the computer though.
Just had another thought. Check to see if DMA is ticked in drive properties. Un-tick it.
Good Luck
