Building systems with AMD-K6-2-450 chips, PA-2013 Motherboards & 13GB W/D UltraDma 66 hard drives... Can't load win95/98 Also systems will not reboot... Turning off ultra-dma solves problems, but now drives are slower... F.I.C says there is a problem, but getting a hold of t hem is hard.... looking for a bios fix... Amd made no mention of problem on their web site when they recommended the motherboard... have latest mb revision and bios....

You will definitely need the AMD K-6 update from Microsoft if you are running Win95. MS says that K6-2 350s will cause intermittent protection errors and higher speed K6-2s cause more consistent protection errors. I was building a 400 last week that would boot into Win95 only about one in ten times. After I installed the update the protection errors went away.
