are you running win98???

If so then I know what your problem is . It isn't IE5 it is the version of IE4 that Freeserve installs. I get at least 20 systems aweek in to the three shops that I work for with Freeserve related problems. Get rid of Freeserve, it is the biggest waste of time ever invented. Why do you think Dixons are selling it off????

If you want trouble free internet use then go with one of the pay ones that do not supply pre-configured software. I use a company called Cyberware ( http://www.cyberware.co.uk ) who are based in Peterborough , UK. I can honestly say that I have never had any problems with their server in the 18 months I have beenwith them. I have tried the free ones and they all perform like a bag of S@#$.

I reckon if you get rid of Freeserve then you will be ok. I don't just mean deleting the Dial up connection, I mean format & reinstall, as this is the only wayto clear a Freeserve installation out of Win98, because of Win98's usage of IE4 in it's shell.
