Delete everything in your C:\windows\temp folder, then right-click on the internet explorer icon on your desktop, select properties, and under temporary internet files, click on delete files...click ok. Drop down and clear your history while your in there. Then go to Start\Programs\accessories\System tools\ and click on System Information. At the top, select Tools\Internet Explorer Repair Tool. Select the Repair Internet Explorer radio button and click ok. Finally, I would reboot your computer, run Scandisk, then defrag the hard drive. Anytime your system crashes, you should do the first two tips mentioned above.

Just another idea, If you have removed the IE Icon from your desk top, It will cause the same error. I found out the hard way that even tho I use, my short cut on the task bar for IE. You CAN NOT remove the shortcut from the desk top. It has to be there for the system to function correctly. At least it stoped my system from continous error messages.

Visit http://www.98lite.net download ind install IEradicator. This gets rid of IE. If you must have IE you can do a cleaner install from one of those ISP CDs that clog the mailbox weekly.

Good Luck,
Bruce

PS you do not need IE if you don't use it.

I don't know how the system can run unstable with the IE shortcut removed from the desktop. I have never had that Icon on my desktop preferring to remove it manually or to use the internet settings option to remove it. It is only a shortcut to the IE executable and has nothing to do with the actual stability of the program.
