It is possible that the game can be patched to fix this problem. Visit the game publishers web site and look for downloads or support pages.
Does the error occur every time you run the game?
Have you checked your system with a recent virus scanner?

For fear of breaking some sort of copyright, what is the game?
Do the PCs meet the minimum spec on the game box?
What version of DirectX are you using?
The fact that you've tried and crashed it on 3 different PCs would suggest that it's a problem with the software itself.
Is the game a retail purchase or gold disk?

I am using win95 and DirectX 5,it is "Batman activity center" everything runs fine on this program except on card game in the program,it is a retail original copy also.it does not crash the pc just the "this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down"details;error in krnl386.exe.this is my kids computer, pentium 120,64 megs ram, hard drive 600meg free, sytem requirements on the software are 486 25mhz or higher win 3.1or win95,8mg ram,10meg hard drive free space.no other problems exist on the pc.the program i beleive is not the problem.i have not tried the program on my two other win98 pc's.

OK, I'm stumped.
If the game runs in a Dos window, you may be able to get it working with a dos boot disk or an advanced shortcut.
If the producers of the game still provide any support (unlikely), they may be able to help you out.
You could try running the game on a win98 machine, but win98 handles windows3.1 programs in pretty much the same way as win95.
The alternative is to find a windows 3.1 machine and try the game on that.
A traditional techie fix would be "don't play the card game".
The question is: how good is this game?
