network with roadrunner

not really the right place but you guys will know the answer anyway. running 98 se. I am on roadrunner cable modem with a hub so my wife and I both have access on different machines. roadrunner has you disable dns, uses tcp/ip. I would like to be able to and know there is a way for us to share between the two of us across the hub but not sure how. if anybody can help i would appreciate it.

Adding another protocol such as netbeui, which I normally don't recommend unless its a very small network, like in your case, should be the answer.
