This is a software that is loaded up during start up. I have been told that this particular software causes crashes when you are on the internet. Is this true ?

Find Fast doesn't really do much. It helps you find Office documents on your computer easily since it maintains an index whenever you save an Office document on your computer. Today's hard drives are so fast, that the usefulness of Find Fast is questionable. I recommend removing it from the Office Install entirely. You can do this by running setup off the Office CD again, and unchecking "Find Fast"

Among its other attributes, it stops Scandisk and Defrag from running properly and is the kiss of death to CD burns on non-burnproof writers.
Anybody with more organisational ability than a retarded goldfish can live very happily without it.

It also sucks up about 5-6 MB of Ram. Just to add to the hundreds of reasons NOT to use it.

Been automatically removing it from every system I sit down out since it was included in the first version of MSOffice.....Find Fast and the automatic default recycle bin size of 10% of your hard drive capacity just might be the two biggest wastes of resources MS ever packed into Windows....
