Is there any way to manually add applications to the systray? I have a Compaq laptop, and the quick launch buttons will not work unless I first open the application that edits the settings of the buttons. After I do this, the application is added to the systray and the quick launch buttons work fine. I need to know how to automatically load it into the systray on startup.

In your Win.ini file
Add that launch in Run= or Load= line
Or copy the application to your startup folder.

If you are running Windows 98, on the 98 disk, under Tools\reskit\desktop is an exe called quiktray.

Copy this to your pc, ie Windows folder, and create a shortcut to it in your Startup (or add it to the registry in Local machine, software, microsoft ,windows, current version, run. and create a new string value to point to that exe (c:\windows\quiktray.exe)
When it runs, it puts a small blue box in the System Tray. Open this up, and you can add as many programs (shortcuts) as you like to the System tray. I use it for Quake2, Deltaforce2 and stuff.

good luck.
