This is weird, but then what isn't on a computer! LOL
Have an ACER Aspire, 233 CPU, 96 mg Ram, 2 HD's, CDrom, CDRW, Win98SE
System was working fine. I just added the CDRW, in the process I noticed that both the HD's were on the same IDE (1), and the CD was on IDE (2), In the past I have been told that you SHOULD NOT hook up 2 CD's on the same IDE, that sometimes the information can get comfused between the 2 CD's. Well when I configured the system like this, IDE (1) Master HD, Slave CD, IDE (2) Master CDRW, Slave HD. But I lost the on board Video, tryed to install a PCI Video card with still no luck in getting video.
I disconnected everything, and I get the video Back!
So I guess my question is it alright to runn both HD'S on the same IDE and then Both CD's on the 2nd IDE.
Thanks in advance.
