Lately I noticed a dramatic increase of attempts (many in a minute) to hack my computer from Texas Independent Bank (TIB), registered under net name TIB-Texas Independent Bankersbank, UU-63-80-63-32, netblock 63.80.63.32 - 63.80.63.47. (thanks to ZoneAlarm their attempts were blocked). I called their computer man, Mr Drew Allbright, and then the CEO Mr Gayles M. Earls, and requested that they stop attempting intruding into my machine. These attempts stopped immediately afterward.

TIB is a marketing company. They steel all possible information about you and sell it to their customers: banks, financial institutions and other companies of interest in your data. They do this not only without your knowledge and concent, but they make profit of it without sharing it with you.

If your firewall blocks attempts from the netname above, call or write to the persons I just cited and request that Mr Allbright abandon his practice. Do not send an email, just a letter without your email address on it. Chances are your address and telephone number are listed, so that is not something to wary about in your letter to them. This should give TIB and similar companies a notice of their illegal practices.

Hack the computer....
They are a bank...why do they need to get it into others computers.

Exactly how legal is their pratice of hacking your computer? Sounds like something that could/should get them into some serious trouble. I'd call the Better Business Buero in that area, and file a report, and also file a report with the FBI's computer hacking department.

I don't have an account with them and I don't live in texas. In my case their attempts stopped completely after I called them.

For the legal action, it is difficult to get it done successfully if you do not have sustained a damage, not even on privacy matter since they were not successful in braking the firewall. All what a law suit could do in this case is to give them a warning, not even the FBI would pursue the matter any further. It is cheeper and faster to give them a call.

I wonder how many other people are subjected to these attacks, from that bank and from others.
