This may be a no brainer for some of ya, but I just cant get it and its killin me not to get something this simple.
In Win98 I see some PCs with the bottom taskbars for program icons alligned to the right but by default it allignes these to the left....How do you manipulate this? <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">

Right Click on an open Spot of the taskbar.

Yea, that much ive done. I have checked in the properties menu as well as the toolbars menu but theres nothing listed that would help me change that alignment.
Just to make sure im clear, Im trying to line up the program icons next to the task bar instead of the start menu.

Or you can click and drag it over. My father just passed on from a brain tumor. He got pretty confused in the end. Everytime my mom would get on the PC,the task bar would be in a different place. Man, I miss that guy.

While we're on the subject of the Taskbar could I ask a quick question.
My System Tray Icons look pants, they look like they're in 16 colours and look really blockish and crappy.
Is there anyway to make them look youthful once more?

Go to display properties, appearance and set your title bar height to 18 and title bar text to 10. If you change these values, it makes the taskbar bigger and the icons are scaled up to fit in the space. That's why they look awful.
