I have been reading all posts for quite awhile and I am a little baffled .
What is the max memory of PC133 I can use with Windows 98se & why would they make motherboards that have a max of 1 or 2gig SDRAM if windows has a max???
Please help me , I want to go buy some more memory just so I can get peak performance out of my AZ11e motherboard with the 1000mhz ATHLON overclocked to 1200mhz with 384mb PC100 SDRAM , my FIC AZ11e will take PC100 or PC133........

Win9x uses up to 512mb of ram, but they make boards that use more because NT and 2000 can use more. I am not sure what the max is for NT and 2000. I am also not sure what Whistler will handle when it comes out, but the window is open.

I believe that NT 4.0 has a 4gb limit and 2000 something like a terabyte (BIG).

took the words right out of my mouth. I dont think there are memory limits on unix/linux flavoured OS's, are there? ... we shant mention BEOS (*shudder*), or OS2/warp.
