What software are you using to view pictures? I use www.irfanview.com (http://www.irfanview.com) and don't have any problems with it. Excellent software and free, too!

Try going to Control Panel/Mouse and adjusting the double click speed. Never hurts to clean mouse also.

is it ALL pictures? when you launch? try open from a valid viewer program.
