Recently while in Win95, I'm getting an error that says "Quincy non fatal error" "The semaphore timeout has expired". I have no idea what this is or how to correct it. My browser, Netscape 3.0 has also been locking up. Are these problems related? I am running Norton AV 4.0 but still get problems even when I took it out of the startup routine. I ran scandisk and defrag without any luck. Thanks

Because of the message it looks like a virus, but then, what's that "semaphone" http://www.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/wink.gif ? Try NAV5. Sounds better.

Odd, since the only 'Quincy' program I know is an old C interpreter. Try this - get a good dos line AV proggie, like F-Prot or such. Reboot in DOS and scan all of your drives - all files. If that doesn't turn up anything, check your autoexec.bat and config.sys for any programs that you don't recognise and REM those lines. Also, netscape crashes, that's just the way things go http://www.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/frown.gif Try turning off JAVA and see if it runs okay. Finally, what program generates the error message?
