I have recently formatted my hard drive due to severe problems I encountered when I installed a network card. I have formatted the drive and have tried to install win98 on the same drive and it gets to the "copying system files" and hangs there. I have an AMD k6-2 450mhz, 294mb ram, 6.4gb wester digital hd, and an amptron m577 system board. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great!!!

Hi voodo; It sounds like you either have a Bad Win98 CD-Rom or a dirty one. Tyr cleaning your Win98 CD with a very soft cloth and Compact Disc Cleaning Solution.
You may also try copying the Win98 Directory to your Hard Drive and running Setup.exe from there.
I would also use scandisk to check and make sure there are no bad sectors on the Hard Drive you are trying to install Win98 on.
Let me know your Progress. *** Starbuck ***

Voodoo, did you have any internal ZIP drive sharing same IDE port with your CD-rom. If yes remove the Int. ZIp drive and install your win98. I encounter this before.
