Hi there Guys and gals !
I'm gonna explain it clean and clear :^)
Computer : Dell Latitude XPiCD 150
OS : Win95 A
Problem : Windows works just fine in normal mode (duh !) but when i access safe mode (Startup-F8) windows loads up during a while and warns me of a corrupted registry and wants to restore its backup copy (*.da0)
I have encoutered this message several times, and windows just went on and fixed the registry and procedded normally (Safe and normal)
But this particular Case here - I Have to get into safe mode and each and everytime windows just wants me to retore registry+reboot, again and again.
Conclusion : I have no way of booting into safe mode
Things tried so far :
-Regclean, rgcln
-Manually removing the *.da0 (i'd backup of course)
-regedit /c or /e From DOS prompt(i'm not quite sure what each and every switch means, but they both tell me they can't access the registry properly, therefore quitting right away, one of them restoring the da0.
-Replacing the memory , Microsoft has an article that suggests this very error message is related to faulty memory corrupting the registry AS it loads into memory, their solution being the previous attempt (/c or /e)
I haven't been able to find any more documents on the subject.
Does anyone have a clue ???
Thanks everybody !!!
