Holy Smokes!!!!

I'm helping a friend with a Compaq 7630 by installing a 30 gb hard drive (Quantum Fireball) and everything is lovely until while copying the old drive to the new, at 13% of the job, it locks up!! Now what do I do?

With all the mental horsepower here, I'm certain someone will come thru.

what are you using to copy the drives?

With a subject like that I thought for sure you were going to tell us that the controler caught on fire! I was going to let you know that I have seen that before, and it usually means the drive is dead :D . But then that is not your problem. As stated above, please provide a little more info...
