I work in the IT department of a large manufacturing company. We have many computers out on the manufacturing floor where we cannot monitor the PCs as well as the office, and therefore we have policy editor on the PC's to keep things locked down. One thing though, is that we have an intranet site for HR stuff, employee benefits, etc... and they need to use either IE or Netscape to view these. We do NOT want them to be able to "browse" the web at their convenience. We used to use Netscape, but now when you download it you have to get all the other crap as well. So we want to use Internet Explorer instead. Both programs you can run in a "KIOSK" mode (shows browser at fullscreen - no buttons!) but all we really want to do is hide the address bar and lock it so they can't put it back up there! That way they can print, and go to Company favorites, etc from the browser. I downloaded the Internet Explore Administration Kit (IEAK) from Microsoft, and it seems I can manage everything EXCEPT shut down the address bar? Do any of you guys have any suggestions?
