Sorry those were not any help to me....basically i'm getting tons of error messages....tapisrv is one...maybe because i live in florida and do not have the central ac on due to the 300.00 electric bill my pc is overheating.... fan is working inside the tower..the room is about 90 degrees...maybe that is the problem...or maybe i need a new pc...i have 475mhz compaq with a 10gig and a 20 gig HD...128 megs ram and am using dsl...just two days ago the pc became sick..and isn't working right...sometimes it works great and sometimes when i boot up it crashes.........any suggestions

I'm just 110 miles north east of you, and it has been hot.. There are a few things you can try,
Pulling the cover off the box and leave it off this can lower the temp by some 25 to 40 deg. Cleaning the power supply fan. Cleaning the cpu heat sink and fan, making sure it is getting power to the fan. And check all connections making sure all are well seated. Also stop any programs from starting that compaq or any one puts in the start menu
I have a Celaron 466 that I run with pretty much the same config that you posted, it runs about 85.6deg, even while burning a CD..

Hey have you tried a virus program, i had some problems like yours and I live in Canada and it hasn't been overly warm, and i had a virus doing the smae thing.
So give it a try, hoped that help.
