Windows Me and dead USB

I recently upgraded to windows ME (no I don’t know what the heck I was thinking).
Last night I tried to hook up a USB cradle for a PDA and found my USB no longer works. I know it worked before with Win 98 2nd edition, but now nothing. I’m not using a hub, just what came with motherboard. Here is what I have tried unsuccessfully;
New drivers.
Multiple USB devices.
Different USB slots with different devices.
Help in windows.
Microsoft’s website.
Any suggestions?

Just guessing here, but have you tried to see if there are any drivers for the motherboard itself, kinda sounds like you need those drivers not the ones for the devices persay. I know mine with a VIA chipset works great with ME and new drivers from via's website, just a thought.

Actually i remembered i hadn't tried that yet and installed them last night, still a no go http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/frown.gif
