Hi

Im trying to burn a load of albums onto disc but this error keeps coming up

'he specified file cannot be recorded to the CD because it is not in the correct format'

There in mp3 format, i have 9gb to burn heh and don't wanna lose any of them, i use Adaptec CD-Writer as nothing else seems to even begin to work as my cd-writer sucks.

Thanks

Your trying to record it has audio tracks? if so, you may want to convert the files to WAV before burning. If your trying to burn them has MP3, make sure your chooising data disc and not audio.

Usualy they do. Sometimes there is minor corruption that causes the writer to pause long enough to screw up the write. Converting them first is time consuming but may resolve the issue.

Ok, any ideas if it doesn't?

Save me asking later if they don't.. ;)

If it does it with ONE or TWO mp3s then I would say its a mp3 problem. If its all of them either they were majorly jacked when they were ripped or you are burning them wrong. What burning app are you trying? If it is corrupt mp3s, Matridom is right on when he says to convert them to wavs. Be ready for a large loss in HD space. A wav can be 10-20(!) times as large as an mp3.

Did you rip the mp3s yourself or did you download them from somewhere? If you did it yourself, what program did you use and what quality did you extract them at?

My advice is to rip them at at least 128k and get a copy of Nero Burning Rom to burn the CDs. You can get it for around $20 (USD) at most major computer stores or online.

Nero is more stable than Roxio (Ez-cd creator) and has error-correction features that Roxio doesn't. Nero can also be used to RIP the MP3s back to WAVs prior to burning the CD.

Nero doesnt work, tried the demo, won't work with my cd-r.

Some are downloaded, some are ones i have bought on mp3 albums from people.

There all 128kbit.
