Is there a way to have Win95 or Win98 look into a specific folder for the cab files. When I install Win98 on a system, I will copy the "WIN98" folder over in DOS after formatting the hard drive, then install Windows from the hard drive itself. If I have a PC that already has Windows 95/98 on it, is there a reistry setting somewhere that will tell the PC to look for the Cabs w/out asking for the CD?

Windows will auto associate to the location where you installed from. For the key where it's located it should be here..

HKey_Local_Machine\software\microsoft\windows\setu p

I believe the necessairy key is "windir" or "winsource" or something along those lines (i don't have a 9x machine handy).

Hope it helps.

It's under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Setup
and right click to modify:
sourcepath
