Please can you help, how do you connect 2 pc's with modems running windows 95, do you need the plus pack to get Dial-up server support and how do you configure it to answer incoming calls?

Thanks,
Dan

what is it exactly your looking to do? if it's nothing more then being able to access files back and forth you can just install pc anywhere on both machines, the install and setup is very painless.

I haven't had a chance to try it, but a friend of mine recommended a program that he had success with called FILEX. Do a search on the Internet and you should be able to find it. I believe it is freeware or shareware. It allows you to set up one computer so you can dial in and transfer files.

If you try it and it works for you, please let us know what you think of it.

Don't you need MS Windows Plus, that includes the Remote Access Server software ? You can then dial out from one and into the other that is acting as the RAS. This is effectively a peer to peer network via serial communications. You may get the MS Plus from their site, otherwise, Win 98 has it included. Another program you could try is Travelling Software's Laplink for file transfer between pc's.

i cant remember where i got this, but it is a guide to making halflife modem to modem playable. Halflife does not support modem to modem play directly, but is network playable, so this feat requires that you establish a network over your modems. Here is the guide: http://home.rmci.net/mikepannell/modem.zip
