i am running w95. I took my hard drive out of one system and put it into another system. When I go to the system performance window it tells me that my drives c,d and e are running in ms dos compatibility mode. I got it off my a drive but these still remain. I have a confliction on my ide controller but cannot get it off. What to do now?

The problem when you move a drive from one computer to the other, different motherboards-different busmaster controller.

Go to control panel, system, device drivers, hard disk controllers, and remove everything under hard disk controllers, then click OK, and restart computer. The computer should reload the right busmaster driver when it restarts. Unless you have a non-intel chipset motherboard and then you may have to add the update files to make it work, like the ones for VIA chipsets.

And you should do this in safe mode as the computer will often lock up if you try to remove them in normal windows.

Also do a search of your registry for noide. If it is found delete this key or change it to 00.
