I recently downloaded and installed Internet Explorer 6. After doing so, if I cancel the modem dial-up, the tick in the tick box for "Connect Automatically" is removed. How can I get the tick to remain. As my PC is scheduled to retrieve mail at different intervals during the day, it will be unable to do so if the tick is not replaced.

Not sure if it's available in Win95, but in Win98 if you goto:
My Computer -> Dial Up Networking -> hi-lite the connection -> properties, there should be a "Connection" tab where you can checkmark "save password" & "connect automatically".

Also accessible via: IE Options -> Connections tab -> isp -> settings -> properties -> connection tab.

Although I'm not 100% sure about this, 'cos I'm not using IE6 . . . could be one of the many reported bugs? Has a service pack been released yet? ;)

Close the box, don't click cancel, or use the crash box to stop dun.

Thanks for your reply,

I thought you were on to something there, but no luck. I tried clicking the cross in the top right of the DUN, and I also tried crashing the DUN (Control/alt/del/end task). But every time the tick in "Connect Automatically" disapears. The only way to get the tick to stay, is if I put the tick back, and then let the thing dial out and connect. The next time I go to connect it does so automatically. But if I stop the dial out, the ticks lost again.
