I am currently using Outlook 97 for network and internet e-mail. I recently upgraded from PII 266 to a PII 450 and in the process copied my outlook.pst mailbox from the 266 to the 450. Now when I run Outlook, the Personal folders (which contain the Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, etc.) are displayed twice as are all my mail messages. If one of the directories is changed, the change is reflected in both directories. If I receive a new mail message, it is displayed in both Inbox directories. Once I read it, it is marked as read in both directories, no matter which one I read it in. It appears there is only one set of mail messages because the size of my database hasn't doubled, but Outlook is displaying them twice. How do I prevent Outlook from displaying these folders twice?

Check your profile to make sure that you don't have Outlook pointing to the PST file twice.

Also, you should upgrade to Outlook 98. It is easier to setup, use and administer and has added user features.
