LPT1 prints in windows98 but not from dos, when I do Mode lpt1 it replies not rerouted.
How do I fix this?

Are you trying to print from a program ?
A text file ?

Have you tried :
type [mytext].txt>PRN
type [mytext].txt>LPT1
copy [mytext].txt PRN
copy [mytext].txt LPT1

(not sure about those two last...)

Is you printer Windows-Only ?
a guess, but i think all HP Cxi are Win-Printers...

are you trying to print from a dos window or a dos program while in wondows? then you may need to set printer properties to capture lpt1.

The problem was the printer itself, Canon bj2100, took it off the system and put in another printer, worked ok.

did you capture a printer port in the detail tab of the printers properties?
