need help getting DOS machine to telnet

I was just asked to take a machine running DOS and make it telnet into a server (basically).

I am assuming I will need to find some networking software and figure out how to assign an ip to the nic - then find a DOS telnet program that has a decent range of emulations.

I'd just like to know if I'm on the right track before I start.....

NCSA (http://archive.ncsa.uiuc.edu/SDG/Software/Brochure/Overview/PCTelnet.overview.html) seems to have what you're looking for here (http://archive.ncsa.uiuc.edu/SDG/Homepage/telnet.html).

But I've never tried it.

OK. Yes you will need a network boot disk that boots and loads the drivers for your specific NIC. You will also need to configure the protocol info. You will then need to run a dos version of telnet.

You will also need to come up with a copy of telnet for DOS...

All I did to find this information was goto www.google.com (http://www.google.com) and type "network boot disk -ghost -linux" and I came up with a gob of results
