After installing Win98 on a Pentium 133 with 24 meg memory and having it run extremely slow I was going to undo the installation even though 98 has some neat features I liked.
I started poking around and I heard about a graduate student at University of Maryland who deshelled Win98 and put it in the Win95 shell dropping a lot of overhead at the expense of a few minor features.
Visit http://www.98lite.net to learn more about this and download the customized installers to do this process. For however little it is worth if you do this you have no support from microsoft for the hybrid windows though they didn't provide much anyway for the full version.
