why should you use a software pakket to say what kind off ram you have?
open the case and take out the ram and there you have all you need..write it down and now you can go directly to the manufactor ..
so that's no problem i assume?

Speaking only for myself (as per usual <g>), if I can avoid opening the case in front of a customer (and I do most of my work in the field), then I do not open the case in front of a customer. Same reason a surgeon doesn't want to perform open-heart surgery in audience of the patient's family. If there's a software package out there that sniffs the information I need without opening the case, I use it. I was a big fan of Sniffer in its day, and I've seen some uts out there that name processors, give manufacturers of RAM, you name it.
In short, onsite I'd rather grab a diskette than a screwdriver.

I have a GUN up in my room. I'll go get it, we can shoot him together. Bang. Dead. It'll be fun.
