Want to get to the “A” prompt in windows2000 fast, just copy Win98 System files to a blank formatted floppy. insert the disk in the computer with Win2K Restart the computer, this is useful if you don’t have a DOS partition at the start of the hard drive and your not dual booting the computer. I use this disk for Flashing Bios on PCI cards. You can also use Win95 System files.

There is another way that I found. It's useful when u don't have access to any 98 or 95 floppies. Start installing 2000 (or repairing if u already have it on) and when it asks U (I think just before the whole file copping process) for last confirmation "like press Enter to continue or ESC to quit" or some sort of msg. like than just quit. It's a cool trick I tried it only once and it worked and it put me on A: prompt. U have to have 2000 CD though. Work is for people who don't know how to fish

And if you get a util like ntfs4dos you can mount a NTFS file system with a dos boot disk. Very useful for maintance and such. Can also be used to export the SAM file of the system in case a user just happens to forget the admin password and a crack needs to be run on it. But note, that is the only time you should ever comprimise the security of the machine. Ever ever ever.
