Router/Network question

I have a question about sharing a DSL connection between two computers. If I were to buy a router to share that connection, would I have to plug in my four port hub's uplink port into the router and then have the router run into my network card? Also, my DSL modem uses a USB port for connectivity, so I don't know if that will screw up anything there. Between that and figuring out which protocols I have to install, it will be a task. Any help I could get would be appreciated.

A hardware router won't work to connect your USB DSL modem. You would have to hook it up to your PC and use some serious Personal Firewall product to protect your system. There are many of those coming out. Of course the downside is you would have to leave the system with the modem on it on all the time. You can use internet connection sharing with Win98 SE if you need to share the connection. Just check out some of those sites posted above to be sure your security is good.

I have a question along these lines..
I run wingate on my pc at work and it serves as the proxy server for the office. We have a cable connection.
My question is, lately when opening web pages the pages dont load all the way. some of the pic's or illustrations dont load all the way. If i right click and click where it says show picture it pops right up.

Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

Hello If you use a linksys DSL/Cable router you can hook the hub to the router by connecting to the uplink.Then connect your compute to the hub.I must warn you that your speed will not be as fast as without the router.This is because the router will filter every packet as it acts as a firewall.

The Linksys Cable/DSL Router www.linksys.com (http://www.linksys.com) will connect up to 253 users with 1 IP Address.
And it has a built in firewall (NAT)
