Many Thanks

When your computer boots, go into the BIOS setup (try pressing DEL) and look for an option in there for "Use PS/2 Mouse" or "Reserve IRQ 12" and turn them to off or auto. Probably in "PNP setups"

You don't have to do anything in Windows, it will recognize the extra IRQ is available and use it as necessary.

I've found that most devices will not accept normally occupied IRQ's such as 1 or 6.

For a while, I was using an LS-120 drive, so I had the floppy controller disabled, but NOTHING would move into IRQ 6.

Assuming you are not using them, turn off com and parallel port in bios also, their irq's will be released.
