He doesn't speak English... he must be a programmer

No, this is not meant as an ethnic joke (all though it is kinda funny now that I put it into words) but I was just kinda wondering how the programmers in your area are. I work in a semi large company (500+) with quite a few programmers for our e-commerce site. It's odd but none of them really speak English. Anyone in a similar situation? I originally wanted to program and did for some time but it was too boring for me.

I work with a programmer / database dude, who speaks perfect english, but when you get him going on any subject concerning computers, fogetaboutit! He starts bringing out these words and phrases and expressions that boggle the mind, he might as well speak another language because he goes a little to in depth when you ask him a simple question like
"What the specs on the new upgraded machines the dept. just got?" :eek:

I find that coder guys tend to ... speakreallyquicklyandforgettotakeabreathe.

Its really quite a funny thing, quite annoying at times, but after a couple of minutes to pause and untangle what they said... its normally ok.

One of our coders the other day said "I think all L-users should be shot at birth"
I almost cried, FInally! someone who understands ;)

Actually, I am one of the rare and well hated Administrator / Devs. I am an MCSE (NOT the paper kind) and am working toward my MCSD.

My job title is Programmer Writer, which means that what I do FOR A LIVING is translate Dev-Speak into english for Network Admins to read.

In fact, I am pretty sure you have probably read some of the stuff I have written... :)
